Jazz/Electronica Duo FILTER KINGZ release CD after 10-year online writing collaboration

After nearly a decade, the Soul/Jazz/Electronica duo FILTER KINGZ release a collection of new songs called "Declassified", the result of a ten-year, online musical collaboration between New York singer/songwriter JAMES AVATAR and Australian pianist/Electronica producer PHILIP GELBACH.

Holding virtual "rehearsals" via Google Plus Hangout, James & Gelbach crafted the new music works without letting the distance between them impair their artistic drive & vision.

Phillip works from his sunny studio in Melbourne with a grand piano, a Hammond B3 organ and Cubasis music software. James works between New Orleans and New York City using Reason, Stutter Edit and Logic Pro software on a Mac book.

The blend of Phillip's masterful Jazz & Classical music compositions and James' soulful beat construction and entertaining lyric writing make for a unique and timely collection of new music since the two climbed the europop charts in the mid-90's with "Se Acabo (It's Over baby)"
, their Triphop homage to 50's Latina singer LA LUPE`.

"Declassified" will be a collection of musical works inspired by events over the past decade, including :

•The ever-changing landscape of New York City
• Mentoring Millennials in the information age
•The rising popularity of Social Media
•Hurricane Katrina
•911
•The Occupy Movement
• And personal tributes to selected works of inspiration .

Filter Kingz workshopped their "Declassified" material in clubs on New Orleans' famous Frenchman Street and in New York City during the height of the Zuccotti Park occupation.

The album also showcases emerging talent from New Orleans, Boston and New York and will be FILTER KINGZ's first independent effort after parting ways with former record company Odessa Mama Entertainment.

FILTER KINGZ is yet another music group to evolve from the diaspora of the former 13-piece New York soul ensemble CHRONIC ELECTRONIC ORCHESTRA, as did the New Orleans "avant soul" duo The MUMBLES and New York Experimental Jazz group PEARRING KNIFE.

Look for Declassified late 2014.
